Possible Phrases for Brahma Vihara Practice

Lovingkindness
May you (I) be safe and protected from harm, or
May you be free from danger, or
May you be safe.
May you have mental happiness, or
May you abide with happiness, or
May you be happy.
May you have physical happiness, or
May you be healthy and strong, or if that's not possible,
May you accept your limitations with grace, or
May you be healthy.
May you live with the ease of well-being or
May you take care of yourself happily, or
May you live with ease.

Compassion
May you be free from your pain and sorrrow, or
May your pain and sorrow be eased
I care about your pain and sorrow, or
I'm with you in this pain and sorrow, or
Replace "pain and sorrow" by suffering, sadness, fear, loss, illness, etc.

Sympathetic Joy
May your happiness and good fortune continue. May they
increase. May they never wane. Or
May you enjoy happiness and abundance.

Equanimity
You are the heir to (owner of) your karma. Your happiness and
unhappiness depend on your actions, not so much on my wishes for you. Or
Whether I understand it or not, things are unfolding according to a lawful
nature. Or
All beings meet their joys and sorrows according to a lawful nature. Or
Things are just as they are. Or
May I accept this just as it is. Or
No matter how I might wish things to be otherwise, things are as they are.
